If you are a Kentucky Democrat, join us for a positive, no-pressure, information session about the nuts-and-bolts of running for public office in Kentucky. Our goal is to encourage Democrats to run for office at all levels. You are welcome to attend even if you do not have a specific office in mind.
Democratic National Committeeman Nathan Smith and his wife Mary Lee Chance Smith are fielding Democratic candidates for 2018.
A candidate training boot camp, Project Run—get fit for public office in one day —will provide a comprehensive, fast-paced political training program for Democrats across Kentucky who are thinking about running for office at all levels.
“Our goal is to encourage and train Democrats to run for office at all levels,” said Mary Lee Chance Smith. “We know there are people who think about running but are not sure how to proceed. We will provide a thorough one-day program to help get candidates started.”
The Smiths have been involved in Kentucky and national Democratic politics for decades and have helped many with fundraising and grassroots support.
“Working with some of our Kentucky experts, elected officials and volunteers, we will provide a solid foundation and informative sessions on the basics to run for office,” said Nathan Smith. “We want to encourage people to run for city council, school board, county and state offices to learn what it is all about.”
All registered Kentucky Democrats are welcome whether or not they are committed to running for office in 2018.
Lunch will be provided.
