Kentucky Democratic Party Names Executive Director
Frankfort, June 15, 2009--The Kentucky Democratic Party has announced the appointment of Kyle Cox to the position of State Party Executive Director.
Cox has spent the past two years developing targeting and Get out the Vote strategies in several southern states for President Barack Obama's victorious Primary and General Election campaigns.
Hailing from Southern Indiana, Cox grew up on a farm, raising cattle and participating in 4H. Working for Democrat campaigns since age 11, Cox has learned how to campaign and win Elections in predominantly Republican districts and also helped Indiana Democrat Governor Frank O'Bannon win re-election in 2000.
"I am so proud to have cut my teeth in Southern Indiana politics," Cox said. "If Democrats can win there, they can win anywhere."
Campaigning in 11 states over 12 years for candidates up and down the ballot, Cox brings a wealth of experience to his new role in the Bluegrass state.
"I am humbled and honored by this exciting new opportunity in Kentucky," said Cox "I am looking forward to helping Chair Moore and Governor Beshear to fulfill the mission of the KDP and elect Democrats in every part of the state."
Cox is a 1997 graduate of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Bloomington. He was recognized in 2004 by his alma mater as a "top 30 under 30 to watch."
