Welcome Chairman Hughes

In a unanimous vote, the executive board of Kentucky Democratic Party today selected Patrick Hughes as the party’s new Chairman.  Hughes succeeds Dan Logsdon, who has served as party chair for the past four and a half years.

Hughes, of Edgewood, is a partner at the Dressman, Benzinger and LaValle, PSC.  He served as Chief Deputy Attorney General to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway in 2011 and 2012 before returning to the private sector.

“Patrick is a passionate, dedicated and thoughtful leader who understands what’s important to Kentucky families.  He’s the perfect choice to rally Democrats to victory in November,” said Gov. Beshear.  “Kentuckians have a clear choice this fall: vote Democratic and keep moving forward in education, healthcare and job creation, or follow a fractured Republican party in their sprint back to the 19th century.  I’m grateful that Patrick is taking the reins as we approach this critical election.”

“Patrick Hughes will be a tremendous leader for the Kentucky Democratic Party,” said Attorney General Jack Conway. “Patrick and I have worked closely together, and I know his dedication to Democratic values will guide the party as we work to move Kentucky forward.”

“I am honored to be named the next chairman of the Kentucky Democratic Party,” said Patrick Hughes, “I look forward to continuing to build our party and to work hard to elect our outstanding Democratic ticket in November.”
